TOUCAN (Touched by Cancer)
TOUCAN Cancer Services User Group was established in 2005.
The group meets monthly at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
- The purpose of the group is to put forward suggestions to improve cancer services by liaising between HSSD and people affected by cancer.
- Some ideas have been implemented by members, such as providing feedback on patient information leaflets, research surveys, contributing to positive press coverage, lobby politicians and others for service improvements, linking with GP surgeries, etc.
If you, or a member of your family, have been affected by cancer, or you are interested in how cancer services are run and developed locally and are prepared to come and tell us what patients expect from their local services and how these should be developed in the future you may be interested in coming to one of our monthly meetings.
